Aguila de Osa Night Walking Tours

Discover a hidden world you can only see after dark

When night falls, an amazing transformation takes place in the rainforest… the immergence of countless night dwellers that come alive only after the sun goes down. They create an exotic world of color, sound, and scents that the naturalist guides of Aguila de Osa’s will help you experience for yourself.

The Night Walking Tour offer visitors this rare opportunity to move among the nocturnal species of this lowland tropical rainforest. Leading you through a series of private trails on our property, your guide will explain the characteristics and behaviors of this complex ecosystem. They’ll help connect specific sounds and scents to the myriad of residents who become active in the jungle at night.

Throughout the tour, your guide will share facts about life in the rainforest and its night-active residents, including reptiles, mammals, amphibians, insects, birds, and arachnids, all of which can be observed. Common to see are moths, frogs, opossums, owls and sleeping birds, crocodiles, and other species traversing the floor and mid-canopy levels.

If you want to become part of the wildest nightlife in the rainforest, this is a great way to do it. So come see who’s looking back at you when night changes the nature of the entire rainforest. You’ll be surprised how much you’ll see… in the dark.
